This project presents a strong concept and vision. The design story and purpose are clearly articulated and demonstrate a thoughtful response to the site's current condition. The idea of revitalizing the area near Lake Sredny Kaban and the adjacent 33 military camp with a residential complex that includes active ground and second-floor functions is both socially responsive and contextually relevant. The aim to create not just housing but a vibrant, functional urban space aligns well with the goal of enhancing infrastructure and uplifting the surrounding community.
The architectural language—late high-tech with a parametric canopy—is visually striking and ambitious. The use of a parametric glass form adds a futuristic and expressive layer to the building, which will no doubt become a local landmark and potentially create a “Bilbao effect”, drawing attention and revitalizing the area. This speaks to the project's broader urban intent, beyond just serving residents.
From a presentation standpoint, the perspectives are strong and visually engaging, and the site development is clearly communicated. These elements give a solid idea of the project’s scale, context, and overall aesthetic. However, to fully appreciate the functionality and spatial planning, it would be helpful to include a floor plan. This would enhance understanding of how the internal spaces are organized and how users will circulate through the building. A well-presented floor plan can also clarify the layout of the functional programs described in the concept.
Additionally, while the graphics are commendable, it would significantly strengthen the overall presentation to include a few simple diagrams illustrating the design process—for example, how the form evolved, how zoning was handled, or how user needs were addressed. These types of graphics help convey the logic behind the design and give viewers insight into your creative and technical decision-making.
Technically, the proposal is well-grounded, using reinforced concrete frame construction—a practical and cost-efficient method. The choice of self-cleaning perforated metal cladding is a smart touch, adding both functionality and longevity to the building's aesthetic. The attention to material performance shows a responsible and future-oriented mindset.
This is a well-executed and promising project. With just a few additions like the floorplan and process diagrams, the presentation would become even more comprehensive and communicative.
Great job, Артем Сидоров, Malika Bikeeva, Nastya Eliseeva, on combining architectural expression with practical urban renewal goals!
