PROJECTS FEEDBACK

Any participant in the INSPIRELI AWARDS competition can ask a member of the international jury for feedback on his/her competition project. Jurors are assigned across continents at a ratio of one juror per student. The resulting gallery is a unique architecture textbook, created free of charge by those who wish to participate in our project and contribute their work to the education of the up and coming generation. We are honored that you are sharing your designs and experiences here.

Multi Unit Housing projects feedbacks

The concept of designing a vertical student accommodation in Seri Iskandar is a highly relevant and timely response to the growing demand for student housing in university towns. The focus on safety, security, and enhanced study facilities shows a strong understanding of the needs of students, who not only require a comfortable living environment but also a conducive space for academic success.

Great work on addressing scale and community in such a thoughtful way. Breaking down the large blocks into smaller units really helps humanize the environment and brings it closer to the historic urban rhythm of Guimarães. The focus on subtle interventions—like enhanced greenery, street furniture, and traffic calming—shows a smart, sensitive approach that improves everyday life without drastic changes.

The NET ZERO Hub is a forward-thinking public facility designed for complete autonomy from external infrastructure, especially in times of crisis. The building integrates renewable energy through the use of monocrystalline solar panels and Rutland 504 wind turbines, producing a combined ~12.5 kWh/day. A Building Management System (BMS) helps optimize consumption, and smart technologies such as motion-sensor LED lighting and heat-recovery HVAC systems ensure operational efficiency. Water…

The project is a three-block apartment building inspired by the nearby mountains, aiming to offer residents both aesthetic appeal and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. The concept focuses on creating a visually interesting and comfortable living space, with functional apartments and a ground-floor (parter) layout. Good concept!

First, integrating smart urban technologies, such as sensor-based lighting, real-time transit displays, and interactive digital kiosks, can significantly enhance efficiency, sustainability, and user experience throughout the development. Second, expanding climate resilience strategies is essential, especially given the proximity to the Trinity River; this could include implementing green roofs, bioswales, and retention systems to manage stormwater and reduce flood risk.

the New Exodus settlement presents a compelling approach with its modular, flexible design principles, which are highly promising for efficient construction and future adaptability. Prefabrication and modular assembly can significantly reduce construction timelines, improve quality control, and minimize on-site labor, which aligns well with sustainable and cost-effective project delivery.

I really appreciate the strong narrative behind the project and how the materials clearly express the story of transformation—it gives the building a unique identity that stands out in Yaroslavl’s context. The use of Corten and untreated steel creates a compelling contrast that feels raw yet purposeful. However, when it comes to the building’s form, especially the chamfered corners and angled projections, I find myself questioning their purpose. They seem somewhat random and don’t fully connect…

To strengthen the impact even further, I’d recommend exploring how the building’s advanced technologies like piezoelectric floors or kinetic façades can be made more tangible and visible to the public. When people can see how a space works sustainably, they’re more likely to connect with it, learn from it, and feel empowered to adopt those ideas in their own lives. Maybe that’s through interactive panels, real-time energy dashboards, or even small exhibitions integrated into the circulation…
