Hello,
Your design concept for the Visitor Center at the Uranium Mine in Bytíz is both imaginative and thoughtful, creating a meaningful connection to the site's industrial past while offering an engaging experience for visitors. The idea of evoking the feeling of "being underground" is very fitting for the context of a mining heritage site, and the integration of natural elements like the waterfall and panoramic views from the mining tower adds a great sense of place and depth to the visitor experience.
As an experienced architect, I would recommend focusing on the materials and how they can evoke both the raw industrial character of the site and the organic curves of the building. While reinforced concrete is a solid choice, you could consider using it in a way that mimics the textures of the mining structures, giving a nod to the past while still creating a modern aesthetic. The corrugated glass is an excellent choice for lightness, but I would suggest exploring how the transparency and reflective properties of the glass could change as visitors move through the space, perhaps offering different visual experiences based on the time of day or weather.
It would be great to consider incorporating elements of local or sustainable materials in the building's interior design, paying homage to the history of the region and ensuring the building remains environmentally sensitive.
Lastly, since accessibility is a priority, I’d suggest thinking about the integration of sensory elements—such as soundscapes or tactile experiences—that can enhance the experience for visitors with sensory disabilities.
Best of luck with your education and future career!
