Hello Prakriti, Siyang, Shuyao and Sonali,
The images of your project evidence your work and order in the design process. I appreciate the visual aid and the level of graphic representation you presented. Urban design and the city itself is a topic that requires multiple disciplines of study. It is really cool to see how you introduce technology to maximize the potential of strategies to help human beings and the environment. Following, I address some points that you can try to apply in your project:
1. Sustainable Practices. In your planning, I really like the idea of having all the amenities at a reasonable distance. Encouraging walking and bicycle displacement would really benefit every city and community in the world. Since I read your project, I made a logical connection with the concept of Smart Cities and Japanese Metabolism. The mobile segments represent an opportunity to increase the adaptability of the infrastructure to the city's needs. You may try to introduce renewable technologies in energy and water domains within the mobile segments. Also, you can explore the transformation of these modules through time. With the correct design, the materials used in every structure will be durable and useful for years.
2. Landscape Design. I loved the idea of elevated segments that represent a system of paths that will improve pedestrians experience in moving through the city. I encourage you to approach the design of this space with detail, where the walkways can become gardens within the city.
3. Waste Management. As the city grows, waste materials expand as well. When designing each strategy of urban growth, you may try to explore the different possibilities and paths of waste management. This topic is something that we tend to leave until the end but requires the same level of importance as the rest.
Finally, I know you're doing it, but feel free of imagining awesome places. It is through design and crazy ideas that we will shape the future of the city. I hope my comments can help you. Feel free of contacting me if there's anything more I can do for you.
