This project skillfully blends heritage preservation with contemporary sustainable urban design, thoughtfully extending the village fabric of Brněnec while honoring the historical significance of the site. The clear zoning of cultural, educational, and residential functions demonstrates strong urban planning sensibility, with a sensitive balance between adaptive reuse of existing structures and carefully introduced new volumes. The incorporation of blue-green infrastructure strategies—such as permeable surfaces, rainwater harvesting, and green roofs—enhances the project’s environmental resilience. The modular approach to the residential design supports social diversity and adaptability over time. While the proposal is well-resolved, deeper articulation of pedestrian pathways and visual linkages between the museum and residential areas could further enhance experiential continuity. Overall, this project offers an exemplary model for integrating memory, sustainability, and vibrant community life.
