The "GRAIN" project presents an outstanding and conceptually refined response to its historical and urban context along the Dead Vistula River in Gdańsk. Drawing inspiration from the symbolism of wheat grains and granary architecture, the design translates historical memory into a contemporary, functional form with elegance and sophistication. The expressive steel arched structures at the ground level create a dynamic and monumental base, supporting the clean, modular volumes of residential units above. The project’s integration of universal design principles ensures full accessibility, reinforcing its inclusive social vision. The innovative addition of a rooftop grain garden, linking agriculture to community living and bakery production, introduces an exemplary sustainable and self-sufficient model. One minor suggestion could be a deeper climatic and shading analysis for the large glazed areas, especially to optimize energy performance. Overall, "GRAIN" is a mature, poetic, and technically robust proposal that sets a high standard for contemporary urban living rooted in cultural memory.
