This project stands out as a profoundly meaningful and spatially comprehensive intervention. The overall presentation is thoughtfully structured, clearly communicating the vision while respecting the gravity of the site’s history. Your approach to layering new functions—residential, cultural, and community—onto a historically charged place demonstrates an impressive balance of sensitivity and forward thinking. The site development is especially well-planned, revealing a clear strategy to activate underutilized areas while preserving the soul of the place.
The renderings effectively showcase the architectural transformation and urban planning strategy. They guide the viewer through the revitalized complex and provide a good grasp of spatial relationships and material qualities. The addition of human figures and realistic vegetation in some images further enhances the emotional connection, though incorporating more such dynamic scenes could deepen the sense of activity and life across the spaces.
What stands out in the floor plans is their clarity and depth. They respond directly to the needs of diverse user groups—families, youth, seniors, entrepreneurs—through integrated functions and well-placed community assets. This people-centered design approach shows a mature understanding of how architecture serves society. The layering of old and new uses within existing structures, and the attention given to connections like walkways, bridges, and public zones, reveals a keen urban sensibility.
Your presentation board’s color palette is restrained yet impactful, allowing the gravity of the site to shine through. The use of subdued tones creates a respectful atmosphere, while subtle contrasts guide the viewer’s eye to key programmatic and spatial elements without overwhelming the content.
The design philosophy articulated in your statements is thoughtful and deeply rooted in both memory and progress. Your decision to use the site as a place of reflection and regeneration, to not only commemorate Schindler’s actions and the lives saved but also to reconnect the village through purposeful, inclusive urbanism, is commendable. The integration of memorial, business, and cultural programs within a new civic infrastructure is an inspiring model for adaptive reuse and remembrance.
Thank you,Michal Budinský, Lucia Ďurčová, and congratulations on your strong and meaningful entry to the Inspireli Competition. This project honors the past while looking bravely into the future, offering not just architecture, but a renewed sense of place and purpose for Brněnec. Your work stands as a compelling example of how architecture can become a bridge between history, community, and hope.
